    (d): Let their salaries be \[2x,3x\] \[\frac{2x+4000}{3x+4000}=\frac{40}{57}\] \[\Rightarrow 114x+4000\times 57=120x+4000\times 40\] \[\Rightarrow 4000(57-40)=6x\] \[\Rightarrow \frac{4000\times 17}{2}=3x\] \[\Rightarrow 34000=3x\]             \[\therefore 3x+4000=38000/-\]
