    Distinguish between a FAX and E-mail.

    Answer:

                    FAX. It is used for fascimile/exact reproduction of document (picture, letter, map, etc) at the receiving end. The document is first converted into digital data form. This process, called scanning, is accomplished by using an optical scanner. The digital data representing the document is then transmitted to the destination by using a suitable medium. At the receiving end, the digital data is used to reconstruct the original document. E-mail. The messages sent through a computer network are called electronic mails (E-mails). The messages produced using word processing are transmitted over the worldwide network, called internet. The messages get stored in a computer, called a mail server. Anyone connected to the internet can contact the mail server to check, whether it is holding any mail for him/her.
