A litre of solution is saturated with AgCl. To this solution if \[1.0\times {{10}^{-4}}\]mole of solid NaCl is added, what will be the \[[A{{g}^{+}}]\], assuming no volume change             [UPSEAT 2004]

    A)                 More

    B)                 Less

    C)                 Equal

    D)                 Zero

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

\[AgCl\to \underset{x}{\mathop{A{{g}^{=}}}}\,+\underset{x}{\mathop{C{{l}^{-}}}}\,\]                    After NaCl  is added  x       \[x+1\times {{10}^{-4}}\]                                 That is why \[A{{g}^{+}}\] will be less.
