If the straight lines \[{{a}_{1}}x+{{b}_{1}}y+{{c}_{1}}=0\] at \[{{a}_{2}}x+{{b}_{2}}y+{{c}_{2}}=0\]are perpendicular to each other, then

    A)  \[{{a}_{1}}{{b}_{1}}+{{a}_{2}}{{b}_{2}}=0\]

    B)  \[{{a}_{1}}{{a}_{2}}-{{b}_{1}}{{b}_{2}}=0\]

    C)  \[{{a}_{1}}{{b}_{2}}+{{a}_{2}}{{b}_{1}}=0\]

    D)         \[{{a}_{1}}{{a}_{2}}+{{b}_{1}}{{b}_{2}}=0\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

The given straight lines are perpendicular to each other, if \[\left( -\frac{{{a}_{1}}}{{{b}_{1}}} \right)\times \left( -\frac{{{a}_{2}}}{{{b}_{2}}} \right)=-1\]                 or            \[\frac{{{a}_{1}}}{{{b}_{1}}}\frac{{{a}_{2}}}{{{b}_{2}}}=-1\]                 or            \[{{a}_{1}}{{a}_{2}}+{{b}_{1}}{{b}_{2}}=0\]
