    In Herdmania special sensory organs are lacking. However, several simple structure isolated or aggregated cells with nerve endings represents the receptors nerve, especially in the test and the siphons. The receptors are - (i) Red pigmented spots on the test are photoreceptor being sensitive to light (ii) Sensory cells of the test margins of siphons and tentacles are tangoreceptors being sensory to current. (iii) The cells on the margins of siphons are rheoreceptors because they are sensitive to water current. (iv) Cells lining the siphons are thermoreceptor, they are sensitive to changes of temperature. (v) Dorsal tubercle function as olfactory and gustatory organ.
