The values of \[x\] and y satisfying the two equations \[32x+33y=31,33x+32y=34\] respectively will be

    A)  -1,2

    B)         2, - 1

    C)  0, 0

    D)         2, 3

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

\[32x+33y=21\]                                 ? (i)                 \[33x+32y=34\]                                 ? (ii) Subtracting equation (ii) from (i), we get                 \[-x+y=-3\] or                    \[y=x-3\]                                     ... (iii) Substituting the value of \[y\] in equation (i), we get                 \[32x+33(x-3)=31\] or            \[32x+33x-99=31\] or            \[65x=130\] or            \[x=2\] Then from equation (iii),                 \[y=2-3=-1\]
