\[{{(C{{H}_{3}})}_{3}}N\]boils at 276 K while \[C{{H}_{3}}C{{H}_{2}}C{{H}_{2}}N{{H}_{2}}\] boils at 322 K although both are isomeric in nature. Justify.

    Answer:

The difference in boiling points is because of intermolecular hydrogen bonding which is present in n-butylamine (two hydrogen atoms are attached to the nitrogen atom) and absent in trimethylamine (no hydrogen atom is present). The attractive forces in n-butylamine are more and therefore, it boils at a higher temperature than trimethylamine.
