    Answer:

      KCN is predominantly ionic and provides cyanide ion in solution. Although both carbon and nitrogen are in position to donate electron pair but the attack takes place mainly through carbon atom because C - C bond is stronger. Since AgCN is covalent molecule and nitrogen is free to donate electron pair hence is ocyanide is main product. (i) (ii)
