  The insulators do not conduct electricity. The  (Energy gap) between conduction band and valence band is very high. to e.g. Glass, wood. The semiconductors conduct very small electricity by different means. Its energy gap is smaller. toe.g. Si, Ge The conductors have no energy gap and conduct electricity smoothly                                           toe.g. Cu, Al, etc.
