Give reasons for the following : is outer orbital but  is inner orbital complex.

    Answer:

In Co is in +3 state and has 3d6 configuration. Since F is a weak field ligand. So, outer d orbital will be used, Since, outer d-orbital is used for hybridisation. So, it is outer orbital complex. In  Co is in +3 state. Since  is strong field ligand pairing of electron in d-orbital takes place to make two 3d orbitals vacant. Since it uses inner d-orbital for its hybridisation so, it is inner orbital complex.
