Why are aldehydes more reactive than ketones towards nucleophilic reactions?

    Answer:

Due to smaller +1 effect of one alkyl group in aldehyde compared to two alkyl group in ketone, the magnitude + ve charge is more in aldehyde than ketone. Hence, tone is less reactive than aldehyde towards nucleophilic ictions. (ii) Due to steric factor, aldehyde is more reactive than stone because aldehyde has one small hydrogen so, it is ss sterically hindered and it allows a nucleophile to react lore easily.
