Can any of the rectangular components of a given vector have magnitude greater than the vector itself? Explain.

    Answer:

                    (i) It is the product of a pure number and a velocity vector, hence the unit of product is same as that of velocity vector i.e. the product is a velocity of magnitude 15\[~\text{km}{{\text{h}}^{-\text{1}}}\] towards west. (ii) It is the product of a scalar (time) and velocity vector. The unit of this product will be hour x\[~\text{km}{{\text{h}}^{-\text{1}}}\] = km. Thus the product is a displacement of magnitude 15 km towards east.
