      Length (l) Least count   \[\left( \Delta l \right)\] Relativeerro \[\left( \frac{\Delta l}{l} \right)\] (i) 4.0 M 0.01mm \[\frac{0.01}{4.00}=\text{2}.\text{5}\times \text{1}{{0}^{-\text{3}}}\] (ii) 4.0 M 0.01 cm \[\frac{0.01}{4.00}=\text{2}.\text{5}\times \text{1}{{0}^{-\text{3}}}\] (iii) 4.0 M 0.01 m \[\frac{0.01}{4.00}=\text{2}.\text{5}\times \text{1}{{0}^{-\text{3}}}\] (iv) 40.00 M 0.01m \[\frac{0.01}{40.00}=\text{2}.\text{5}\times \text{1}{{0}^{-4}}\] As relative error in measurement of 40.00 m is minimum, therefore, it is most accurate measurement. However, the least count of measuring instrument is minimum in case (i) being equal to 0.01 mm. Therefore, measurement (i) is most precise.
