Why reaction between \[NaCl\] and \[AgN{{O}_{3}}\] is very fast but reaction between \[{{H}_{2}}\] and \[C{{l}_{2}}\] is slow?

    Answer:

\[NaCl\]and \[AgN{{O}_{3}}\] are ionic compounds. In solution, \[NaCl\] gives \[N{{a}^{+}}\] and \[C{{l}^{-}}\] ions and \[AgN{{O}_{3}}\] gives \[A{{g}^{+}}\]and \[NO_{3}^{-}\] ions. The oppositely charged \[A{{g}^{+}}\] and \[C{{l}^{-}}\] ions combine immediately. The reaction between \[{{H}_{2}}\]and \[C{{l}_{2}}\] involves breaking of covalent bonds which requires energy.
