What was the effect of US involvement in Vietnamese war in US itself?

    Answer:

                    (i) The effect of the war was felt within the US itself. Many were critical of the government for getting involved in a war that they saw as indefensible. (ii) When the forced recruitment of youths was done in US, the anger spread. (iii) Compulsory service in the armed forces, however, could be waved for university graduates. This meant that many of those sent to fight did not belong to the privileged elite but were minorities and children of working class families.
