"I see her back, and reflect it faithfully." She rewards me with tears and an agitation of hands. In the poem 'Mirror' the woman has a great faith on the mirror. Though it is painful to her to face her charmless face, yet she comes to it and views herself in it. Now, suppose you are the woman who has been examining herself in the mirror, since a young age. At present you ace an old woman and have lost your beauty. Write a diary entry in which you express your pain.

    Answer:

Sunday, 50th December, 2012 10:00 pm The mirror in my house is very important for me and it has been my companion for 50 many years. I used to look in it to examine my charming and pretty face. This act always gave me pleasure and joy. I always wish to maintain and keep my beauty, but- it is not in my hand. Everyday I come to the mirror to view myself in it with a positive hope but I feel upset and agitated because I find my face wrinkled and ugly. In the past. I was young and beautiful but now that youth and beauty seems to have dissolved in the mirror. I cannot be ugly and wrinkled. Where has my charm gone? Who is responsible for it? I know the answer. Time does not leave anybody unscathed. I know that the mirror is not a liar as the candles and the Moon are. They allow me to live in illusion about my youth and beauty, but the mirror is reflecting my real appearance. Now, I must accept the bitter truth of old age.
