My dear Shekhar,

Your letter dated 25 June is just to hand. We are all quite well. My silence was due to the fact that 1 had gone to Cuttack for a seminar and returned from there only yesterday.

It gives me great delight to hear of your result. I hope you will have similar Success throughout your life. But you must not be elated with pride. You should rather do your best to keep up your present position as you had stated in your letter.

I hope this finds you quite well. Accept my love and blessings.

Yours affectionately,

Father

3.    Write a letter to the Editor of the Asian Age stating the worsening road and traffic condition in your area.

The Editor,

The Asian Age,

New Delhi                                                                                                                                                           July 17, 2012

Sir,

I would like to catch your attention regarding the worsening road and traffic condition at Najafgarh. The entire stretch of road is in a very bad state. We have pleaded the government a number of times in writing, but so far no action has been taken.

People often propose to introduce more city buses for relief of the commuters. But they overlook certain important issues.

The roads, which constitute barely six percent of the total -population of Najafgarh, are grossly inadequate for any addition to the fleet of transport. The over-crowded streets are gradually becoming narrower because of encroachments by hawkers and destitute whose numbers are daily increasing. Unless this problem is solved any attempt to increase the fleet will be futile. Any solution of the transport problem in the area depends on three things: a check on the growth and inflow of destitute and vagabonds, construction of More traffic-bearing roads at the cost of dwellings, and expansion of the Metro rail from Dwarka to Najafgarh.

Please throw light on this issue as we are the most suffer facing problems in commuting everyday.

Yours faithfully,

Smt. Sunita Joshi

My dear Sunny,

Hope you are fine. Today, I am going to write about my hobby which I enjoy very much.

You will be glad to know that I have taken up a hobby - the hobby of gardening.

We have a small lawn in front of our house, and I have laid out my flower garden there. It has a variety of season flowers, grown some for their colours and some for their sweet smell.

It has been said that a beautiful flower is the loveliest creation of God. Really as I feast my eyes upon the beauties in my garden and inhale their sweetness, I almost forget myself altogether in sheer delight. I have also a kitchen garda at the back of the house. Here grow vegetables of common use. This not only saves us money but also gives us fresh things.

Of course, gardening requires a good deal of labour. The soil has to be carefully prepared with water and manure, and constant watch has to be kept against worms and insects. I do all these myself. Still the labour and trouble are nothing in comparison to the joy I find in the hobby. I am sure you too will like the garden if you see them.

I am sending a few photographs of my garden so that you can have a look at the flowers and find for yourself how much I care for them. I invite you to come once and enjoy the beauty of my garden.

All this for the day. Check the photographs and send me a reply at the earliest.

With love,

Yours ever,

Arjun
