  Steps to cook rice

P:    Now, presoak rice in plain water from 15 minutes. This is meant to reduce the time the outer layer of the grain is exposed to high heat to prevent grains from sticking together. The presoaking allows moisture to penetrate the grain, increasing the heat conductivity thus reducing the cooking time. This reduction in time allows the rice grains to be less sticky or better texture. The brown rice may be soaked for longer time.

Q:    One of the most common questions is how many cups of water are needed for each cup of rice. Theoretically, one cup of rice needs two cups of water to be fully cooked, but there is loss of water via evaporation during cooking. Also, lots of water has already entered the grains during presoaking.

R:    Almost all the rice processed should be washed before using. The powdery substance on this rice is leftover starch from milling process. We need to remove this powdery substance to prevent rice from sticking together. Normally, rice is washed and rinsed about three times to make sure that the dirt and powdery starch have been washed off.

S:    The relationship between the amount of water and amount of rice is not linear. I cup of un-soaked rice may need 2% cups of water, while 2 cups of the same rice for similar texture may take 4 cups of water. The answer is not simple. The ratio depends on type of rice, desired texture as well as the quantity of rice to be cooked. As a rule, use 2% cups of water for each cup of un-soaked rice. Introduce presoaked rice to boiling water. Wait till the water comes to a boil and your rice will be ready in no time.

Steps to make a cup of tea using teabag

P:    Put the temperature on high; and let your tea come to a rolling boil. Add I cup of milk and add as much sugar as you wish for sweetness at this time. Don't walk away from your tea once you add your milk. It will come quickly to a boil and will boil over if you don't watch it.

Q:    Once your tea starts to come to a boil, turn off the heat, and remove the saucepan from the heat. Put your strainer over your tea cup and pour your tea carefully. Be careful, it will be hot.

R:    Measure one cup of water and pour into the saucepan. Add your teabag and 2 cardamom seeds. Select cardamom seeds that are not dried. Make sure they have a nice green colour. Open up the cardamom seeds before you drop in the water.

S:    Sugar is optional. You can add up to 2 tablespoons of sugar if you like your tea sweet, or even just 1 teaspoon. You can add other ingredients to your tea, such as black whole cloves and ginger, it is up to you. Add these, right in the beginning when you add your teabag.

  Steps to plant a flower

P:    Water your plant one more time through the mulch and then periodically every three or four days or so if you find that the soil is becoming dry. Don't overwater. That can drown the roots. Sun and warmth and the plant's own energy will do the work from here on out with just a little help from you.

Q:    Purchase a potted flower. Choose your planting area according to the sun/shade requirements of the plant you purchased. Work the soil to a depth of at least 12-18 inches all around the planting area. If the soil is too hard or dry, you can amend it with peat moss/ commercially bagged soil, and/or compost to improve the texture. Powdery or extremely sandy soil may be too fine or porous to hold water.

R:    You can add fertilizer if you want your plant to flower more vigorously. Most plants, however, have fertilizer crystals or beads already in the soil when you purchase them. There are products that boost root growth that you can add at the time of planting.

S:    Dig a hole, about twice as large as the diameter of the flower's pot. If the plant is root-bound, take a sharp garden knife and slit the side of the root ball from top to bottom on at least four sides, also slicing off the bottom of the root ball if it, too, is tangled with roots. Place the plant in the center p f the hole and once the pot is down, cover it with soil.

  Steps to publish a book

P:    The copy editors are the next step in publishing a book. They are responsible for making sure that the characters, fonts, pictures, borders, and story line are the same throughout the whole book. They make sure that everything looks the same in the whole book. After a book's manuscript is edited it is typeset.

Q:    Making illustrations is another important part of making a book. Illustrations make people interested in the book, help explain complicated or unusual characters, and help explain what is happening in the book.

R:    Authors are those who write the books. They write down their ideas for the story, and then read through their story to check for mistakes or to edit. Then after they edit the story, type it up on the computer and edit for spelling, punctuation and grammar to make. Their book make sense.

S:    Editors can suggest different words that the author could use that will make the story more interesting or exciting. The role of the designer is also important in making a book. They decide the best size for the book, the kind of design and illustration that will be on each page, and most importantly, they design what the cover of the book will look like.

Steps to adopt a child in India

P:    An adoptive parent is allowed to ask for a child, as per her preferences. A parent may ask for a child of a certain age, gender, skin colour, religion, special features, health condition, etc. However, greater the specifications, more difficult it is to find a child who conforms to them. This restricts the pool of children available for adoption.

Q:    Indian citizens who are Hindus, Jains, Sikhs or Buddhists are allowed to formally adopt a child. The adoption is under the Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act of 1956. Under this act, a single parent or married couple is not permitted to adopt more than one child of the same sex.

R:    The entire adoption process takes some months to complete. However, when all the hurdles are cleared, you are ready to welcome your new child to the family.

S:    Depending on the adoptive parent's desired details, children are scrutinized to find a suitable match. When a child with the desired characteristics is found, she is shown to the prospective parents. In case the parents are unhappy with the selection, about two more children with the same characteristics may be presented to the parents. .

  • Judging completeness of process involves arrangement of sentences in correct order so that when the sentences are read after putting them in correct order appear a flawless paragraph.
  • When set in order, a well-constructed paragraph containing sentences can be logically arranged and flow smoothly.
  • Logical arrangement refers to the order of your sentences and ideas.
  • There are various ways to order your sentences, depending on your purpose.

  • As you read, you may get the hint that you need to say earlier in your paragraph.
  • You have to make sure that the sentence you arrange in order does not end up out of place: rather they should correlate with each other.
  • Linking is one of the most important elements in judging completeness of process.
  • Repetition of key words in the sentences that relate to the topic helps to arrange the paragraph.
  • Expressions such as next, then, after, when and other signal time sequence; expressions such as an example of, the most significant example, to illustrate are used to identify the example in the sentence.

  • Not only should sentences and ideas in a paragraph be logically arranged, but they should also flow smoothly.
  • Such expressions provide a link between the ideas presented.
  • Although you do not need to include a linking word or phrase in every sentence, you should use enough of them to help your reader follow your ideas clearly.
  • Each sentence in a paragraph should relate to the topic and develop the main idea.
  • Relevance is another chief attribute to consider arranging the sentences in a meaningful paragraph.
