While writing the factual description of an object, instrument, animal, place or person we are supposed to give the reader such an impression that he himself knows about it. We must try to define the object with its working, qualities and characteristics. Its mechanism and working should find a w-ell-defined place. Let us study through the given examples.

In the following descriptions find out the step in which the process is completed.

P: The process of opening a Savings Bank Account is very simple. Go to bank and ask the clerk on duty at the Savings Account Counter to give you a prescribed and printed form for opening the account. You must take with you two photos and your ration card.

 

Q: You are required to enter your name and address in it. You can give the name of the nominee. You have to put your signature at two or three places on it. This is termed as your specimen signature. Account can be opened in the name of an individual, single or jointly, a minor with his guardian?father or mother.

 

R: But the person concerned must be known to the Bank or should be introduced through some account holder of the Bank. Each applicant is required to sign a declaration to the effect that he or she has read and accepted the rules for the conduct of Savings Bank Deposit Account.

 

S: After you have opened the account, you are given a Bank Pass Book with your name, home address and account number written on it. You can withdraw the amount by filling a withdrawal form. For more than one thousand rupees you can get a cheque book also.

P: When a place is not linked with our city with direct dialing system, we have to book a trunk call with the telephone exchange. Here, we have to give our own number and the number on which the trunk call is to be booked to the exchange operator. After some time we hear a call from the exchange that the required number is on the line.

 

Q: In the latest telephones, you should press the numbers on the telephone. When you hear the ring tone and the response from the other end, you insert a one rupee coin and start speaking.

 

R: After a few moments, you should try again. When you hear the dial tone, you should dial the first digit of the number you wish to call. You should turn the dial clockwise, stop and then release it. You should repeat it for every other digit of the number.

 

S: To make a telephone call, you should first lift the receiver and wait for the dial tone. If you do not hear the dial tone you should replace the receiver and wait for a while.
