Tools In addition to the tools used till now, Paint Brush offers some more tools and facilities which will improve the appearance of your drawing. Let us discuss then.  

 

*    Colour Pencil

Use the Pencil tool to draw thin, free form lines or curves. The pencil is always set at a width of one pixel that is you cannot change the thickness of the drawing using the pencil.  

 

*     Steps:

  • Click Pencil.
  • Clicka a colour in the Colour box.  
  • Drag the.pointer in the picture to draw. To draw using the background colour, right-click while you drag the pointer.  

 

*     Filling an Area or Object with Colour

Use the Fill with Colour tool to fill the entire picture or an enclosed shape with colour.  

 

*     Steps:

  • Click Fill With Colour.                  
  • Click a colour in the Colour box.
  • Click inside the area or object you want to fill.
  • To remove the colour and replace it with the background colour, right-click the area where you want to remove the colour. The default background and foreground colours appear at the left in the colour box. You can fill with the foreground colour by clicking or you can fill with the background colour by right-clicking.  

 

*   Creating an Airbrush Effect

Use the Airbrush tool to create an airbrush effect in the picture.  

 

*   Steps:

  • Click Airbrush.                        
  • Click a spray pattern just below the toolbar.
  • Click a colour in the Colour box.
  • Drag the pointer to paint.
  • To paint using the background colour, right-click while you drag the pointer.  

 

*   Painting with a Brush

Use the Brush tool to paint thick or shaped free form lines and curves.  

 

*   Steps:

  • Click Brush.
  • Click a shape just below the toolbar.
  • Click a colour in the Colour box.
  • Drag the pointer to paint. To paint using the background colour, right-click while you drag the pointer.  

 

*   Drawing Curves

You can use the Curve tool to draw a smooth, curved line.  

 

*   The following are the steps:

  • Click Curve.
  • Click a line width in the options box just below the toolbar.
  • Click a colour in the Colour box.
  • Drag the pointer in the picture to draw a straight line.
  • After creating the line, click the area in the picture where you want the arc of the curve to be, and then drag the pointer to adjust the curve.  

 

*   Adding Text to go with the Graphics

Suppose you want a caption for your drawing you can use the Text tool to enter text in the picture. For example, you can have a caption 'Happy Birthday' in the card that you are making.  

 

*  Perform the following steps:

  • Click Text and then, in the options box just below the toolbar, click a background style.
  • Click a colour in the Colour box.
  • Click in the picture and type your text. You will notice that a Text toolbar appears with different options.
  • You can resize and move the text box and change the font, font size and text formatting by using the options in the Text toolbar until you click another tool or click outside the text box within the picture.
