  • question_answer 1)
Draw any line segment \[{{l}_{1}}\] Without measuring \[{{l}_{2}}\] construct a copy of \[{{l}_{2}},\]

    Answer:

To make a copy of \[{{l}_{2}}\] we use the following steps: Step I Firstly, draw \[{{l}_{1}},{{l}_{2}},{{l}_{3}}\] of any length because length is not known. Step II Fix the compasses pointer on P and the pencil end Q. The opening of the instrument now gives the length of \[{{l}_{4}}\] Step III Draw any line \[l\] add choose a point C on it. Without changing the compasses setting, place the pointer on C. Step IV Swing an arc that cuts \[l\] at a point, say D. Then, \[{{l}_{1}},{{l}_{2}},{{l}_{3}}\] is copy of \[{{l}_{4}}\]
