(i) Fish provides food which is the rich source of animal proteins. It contains more proteins (about 13 - 20%) than the meat of other animals, less fats, good amount of vitamins A and D, and rich in iodine. Further it is more easily digestable than the meat of other animals.
(ii) Fish breeding also provides a number of by-products like vitamin-rich liver oil, fish meal (with about 55-70% proteins) and fish concentrate (with about 80-90% proteins).
