    (i) Wall is adiabatic, i.e.,\[q=0\] \[\therefore \]\[\Delta U=w,\]here the work is adiabatic. (ii) The wall is diathermic or thermally conducting, w=0 \[\therefore \]\[\Delta U=-q\] (Exothermic process) (iii) The system has a rigid and diathermic wall, \[q=+ve,\,\,w=-ve\] \[\therefore \]\[\Delta U=q-w\]
