    Suggest a reason as to why CO is poisonous?

    Answer:

    Carbon monoxide combines with haemoglobin and forms carboxyhaemoglobin which is not capable to combine with molecular oxygen, i.e., the supply of oxygen to various parts of the body stops. Thus, man dies due to suffocation. Hence, CO is highly poisonous.
