    (a) In\[{{H}_{2}}C=O,\] C is \[s{{p}^{2}}\]-hybridized, hence formaldehyde is trigonal planar. (b) In \[C{{H}_{3}}-F,C\] is \[s{{p}^{3}}\]-hybridized, hence methyl fluoride is tetrahedral. (c) In \[H\text{ }\text{ }C\text{ }\equiv \text{ }N,\text{ }C\] is \[sp\]-hybridized, hence HCN is a linear molecule.
