  • question_answer 1)
Explain, why pure liquids and solids can be ignored while writing the equilibrium constant expression?

    Answer:

Molar concentration of pure solids and liquids =\[\frac{Number\text{ }of\text{ }moles}{Volume\text{ }in\text{ }litre}\] \[=\frac{Mass/Molar\,mass}{Volume}\] \[=\frac{Density}{Molar\,mass}\] Both density and molar mass of pure solids and liquids are constant at a temperature, thus their molar concentrations are also taken constant and included in the value of equilibrium constant.
