Addition is one of the very common arithmetic operation used in mathematics. Addition is the operation to know the total quantity when two or more than two quantities are taken together.

Word Problems Based on Addition
There are four libraries. First library contains 256324 books, second library contains 235623 library, and third library contains 523412 books. The fourth library contains the total number of book which is contained by all the three libraries. Find the total number of books present in all the four libraries.
Solution:
Number of books in the first library = 256324
Number of books in the second library = 235623
Number of books in the first library = 523412
Total number of books in these library = 256324 + 235623 + 523412 = 1015359 .
Thus number of books in the fourth library = 1015359 Therefore, total number of books = 1015359 + 1015359 = 2030718
In a village, there are 564689 men and 445632 women. If 54689 people of them are unemployed. Find the population of the village.
Solution:
Total number of men in the village = 564689
Total number of women in the village = 445632
So, total number of population in the village = 564689 + 445632 = 1010321
