*      Introduction


Analogy is a similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based. For example: If India Gate is to Delhi then Golden Temple is to Amritsar. In the above given example: India Gate is a landmark of Delhi and Golden Temple is the landmark of Amritsar.


*      Look at some other examples:  


  If Lucknow is to Uttar Pradesh then Bhopal is to ______.


Answer :

Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh and Bhopal is the capital of Madhya Pradesh.  



  Doctor is related to patient in the same way carpenter is related to_______.



Doctor treats the patient and carpenter makes furniture. So the answer is furniture.  



  If Teacher is to school then Librarian is to ______.



Teacher works in the school and Librarian works in the Library. So the answer is library.  



  Hand is to gloves in the same way Head is to ____.



Glove is worn in hand in the same way cap is worn in head. So the answer is cap.  





  If man is to kid then cow is to:

(A) Calf     

(B) Kid

(C) Baby                    

(D) None of these


Answer: (a)


Calf is to cow. Therefore, option (A) is correct and rest of the options is incorrect.  



  If Hindu is to Ramayana then Muslim is to:

(A) Bible                                                              

(B) Quran

(C) Mosque                                                       

(D) None of these


Answer: (b)


Muslim is to Quran. Therefore, option (B) is correct and rest of the options is incorrect.
