 The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum has announced that Mastercard CEO and President Ajay Banga and Wipro Chairman Azim Premji will receive the 2019 Global Excellence Awards. This is the Second Annual Leadership Summit of USISPF. They have been honored with the awards for their significant contribution to strengthening economic ties between the US and India.

  The RedInk Awards for Excellence in Journalism are conferred to encourage good quality reporting and analysis, fair play and high ethical standards in Indian journalism.
The following are the winners of awards in different categories :
  • Rachna Khaira of The Tribune has bagged the prestigious RedInk Award for ‘Journalist of the Year’. She won it for exposing the functioning of the UIDAI and its Aadhaar data cache.
  • Two retired senior journalists Dinu Ranadive from the Maharashtra Times, andSebastian D’Souza, from the Mumbai Mirror, have jointly received the Lifetime Achievement Award for this year.

Veyil Marangal (Trees Under the Sun) have become the first Indian film to won ‘Outstanding Artistic Achievement’ award at the Shanghai International Film Festival. The film is directed by Bijukumar Damodaran. This was the 22nd edition of the Shanghai International Film Festival.

  Nitesh Kumar Jangir, an Indian engineer has won the 2019 Commonwealth Secretary General’s Innovation for Sustainable Development Award in the “People” categoryin London. Nitesh Kumar Jangir created Saans, a breathing support device to tackle avoidable deaths of premature babies from respiratory distress syndrome.
