*       Judging Logic of Story   Introduction: It needs proper concentration and attentiveness to find out any logic of a proposition. Logic is based on judgment and common sense. You need to be careful before you infer a conclusion.         Arrange the four parts P, Q, R and S between A and B in order to make a sensible story or a sequence of a story.       A:    About three o'clock in the morning, Jane, one of the servants awoke us. She had seen a great fire from her window. I looked. The fire was not that far away, but I saw no threat to us and returned to bed. P:    From a high point near the Tier of London, I could see a huge fire raging on both sides of the bridge. We had friends who lived in that area. Worried, I approached the bridge. An intense fire was raging out of control. People were desperately trying to save their belongings, loading them in boats or flinging them into the river. Some stayed in their homes until the fire nearly touched them before making their escape. Q:    I rose at seven. The fire appeared smaller and farther away. Jane said she had heard that over400 houses had been destroyed during the night, and the fire was still raging near London Bridge. Curious, I went to have a look. R:    A high wind was driving the fire deeper into the city. Seeing no attempt to put it out, I sped to the King's castle. After telling what I had seen, I was ushered before his Majesty. At my suggestion, the King commanded that houses in the immediate path of the fire be torn down. In this way, we hoped to control its spread. I left to take the King's message to the Mayor. To the King's message, the Mayor replied, 'What can I do? People will not obey me. I have been pulling houses down, but the fire moves faster than we do? S:    He left me, and I walked home. No one could think of a way to stop the fire. It seemed to feed on all it found: pitch and tar in the homes; oil, wines and brandy in the warehouse, and other things. The people I passed seemed distracted. Many filed into churches, not to worship, but to store their goods. Others loaded carts with their belong gangs. Ready to run down anyone in their path, they fled from street to street. B:    Sparks fell from the sky like rain. Smoke filled the sky. A horrid, malicious, bloody flame leaped as far as the eye could see. Its noise was a horrid, cracking sound. At home, my wife and I packed those valuables we could and prepared to evacuate.         Steps to cook rice P:    Now, presoak rice in plain water from 15 minutes. This is meant to reduce the time the outer layer of the grain is exposed to high heat to prevent grains from sticking together. The presoaking allows moisture to penetrate the grain, increasing the heat conductivity thus reducing the cooking time. This reduction in time allows the rice grains to be less sticky or better texture. The brown rice may be soaked for longer time. Q:    One of the most common questions is how many cups of water are needed for each cup of rice. Theoretically, one cup of rice needs two cups of water to be fully cooked, but there is loss of water via evaporation during cooking. Also, lots of water has already entered the grains during presoaking. R:    Almost all the rice processed should be washed before using. The powdery substance on this rice is leftover starch from milling process. We need to remove this powdery substance to prevent rice from sticking together. Normally, rice is washed and rinsed about three times to make sure that the dirt and powdery starch have been washed off. S:    The relationship between the amount of water and amount of rice is not linear. I cup of un-soaked rice may need 2% cups of water, while 2 cups of the same rice for similar texture may take 4 cups of water. The answer is not simple. The ratio depends on type of rice, desired texture as well as the quantity of rice to be cooked. As a rule, use 2% cups of water for each cup of un-soaked rice. Introduce presoaked rice to boiling water. Wait till the water comes to a boil and your rice will be ready in no time. Add I cup of milk and add as much sugar as you wish for sweetness at this time. Don't walk away from your tea once you add your milk. It will come quickly to a boil and will boil over if you don't watch it. Q:    Once your tea starts to come to a boil, turn off the heat, and remove the saucepan from the heat. Put your strainer over your tea cup and pour your tea carefully. Be careful, it will be hot. R:    Measure one cup of water and pour into the saucepan. Add your teabag and 2 cardamom seeds. Select cardamom seeds that are not dried. Make sure they have a nice green colour. Open up the cardamom seeds before you drop in the more...

*       Judging Completeness of Process   Introduction: While writing the factual description of an object, place, thing or person, it is important to give the readers a sense of impression which will make them realize that they know about it. We should therefore while defining them, should acknowledge their working, qualities and characteristics. It is vital that the mechanism and working should find a well-defined place.       Find out, from the following description, the correct arrangement of steps in which the process is completed.       Steps to develop a website P:    A domain name makes up the address of your website and can end in. com, .net, .org, .info, .us, .biz, .t v and many more. Throughout this site you may also see the domain name referred to as the 'dot com name'. Once you have registered your name, you will select a web host. The web host is the guts of any website because this is where you create and publish your pages, build order forms, add functionality and maintain your site. Q:    Create a website development plan that is integrated with your overall marketing processes; the content should be consistent with offline materials, the graphics/images should be web friendly and consistent with your overall branding, style guide, usage of colors, etc. A decent design is what you need. R:    Pay attention to 'load times', how long it takes a website to load on a 56 kbps modem (this is a n industry average), if its more than 12-18 seconds you may experience the 'click of death' - the site doesn't load quickly and the surfer is gone. Of course if you are targeting broadband customers who are reaching your site via ISDN, DSL or Cable modem then you can build a website that incorporates multimedia-ready content: that may include streaming audio or video, Shockwave or Flash capabilities. S:    Develop content that is web-enabled, people don't read website content like they do in offline media, keep your paragraphs short, no more than two to three sentences. Ensure your site is optimized for Search Engines by identifying 8-12 keywords that people will use to find your site, then incorporate these keywords in your site content to drive relevancy with search engine spiders/bots and then get lots of links to your site. It is estimated as much as 70% of all traffic to most website comes through search engine. *       Introduction   This segment deals with understanding and reasoning using concepts framed in words. It aims at evaluating ability to think constructively, rather than at simple fluency or vocabulary recognition. This kind of reasoning test of intelligence provides an assessment of an individual's ability to think, reason and solve problems in different ways.           Pointing to a photograph of a boy Suresh said, 'He is the son of the only son of my mother.' How is Suresh related to that boy? *         Conditionals   Introduction: There are several structures in English which are called conditionals. 'Condition' means 'situation or circumstance'. If a particular condition is true, then a particular result happens. There are three basic conditionals that we use very often. There are some more conditionals that we do not use so often. The conditionals are used to talk about real or unreal situations. They are also sometimes called if-clauses. Real Conditional describes real-life situations. Unreal Conditional describes unreal or imaginary situations.       If a certain condition is true, then a particular result happens. There are four basic conditionals that we use in English.
  •   Zero Conditional
  •   First Conditional
  •   Second Conditional
  •   Third Conditional
  *            Zero Conditional: Certainty The Zero Conditional is used for things that are always true as long as the condition is met. Formation: If + present simple + present simple
If Condition Result Situation
If Present simple You heat water to \[100{}^\circ \]  Celsius Present simple It boils  Fact-universal
If Present simple I drink Coffee Present simple I get a headache Fact- personal
In these examples, the result will always occur if the condition is met, so the time is not important.     *            First Conditional: A real possibility in the future A First Conditional sentence is for future actions dependent on the result of another future action or event, where there is a reasonable possibility of the conditions for the action being satisfied. Formation: if + present simple + will       If she gets good grades, she will go to university.
Model Condition Result Possibility
If She gets good grades, She will go to university If the condition is met then she definitely will go
If He gets good grades, He may go to university He is not sure about going to university
If He gets good grades She should go to university The speaker is expressing his or her opinion giving advice
If He gets good grades He can go to university This means that it is possible
If He gets good grades She could go to university This means that it is possible but not that likely.
