Bharati Vidyapeefh (BVP), which is the parent body of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University. is one of the largest network of educational institutions in India. It was established by Dr. Patangrao Kadafn in 1964 In Pune, with a focused objective of bringing about intellectual awakening of people and for preparing manpower capable of contributing effectively towards national development. Within a short span of time, this University has established its reputation for academic excellence and research, nationally and internationally.
At present, there are 32 constituent units of this University, which include Colleges imparting education in Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurved, Homoeopathy Nursing. Pharmacy, Engineering, Management, Architecture, etc. The University has its campuses in Pune, New De!hi, Navi Mumbal, Solapur, Kolhapur, Karad and Sangii. The university also has an overseas campus at Dubai, UAE.
So far as education of medicine is concerned, Medical Colleges of BVP are few of the premier medical colleges imparting high quality medical education in private sector. Established in 1989, today they boast of well experienced, dedicated and committed faculty members, excellent infrastructure with specious class rooms, well-equipped laboratories, a well- stacked library with round the clock internet and digital library facilities, etc. Presently, the University has 2 Medical colleges for MBBS, 3 Dental colleges for BDS, 1 Ayurvedic and 1 Homeopathic
colleges for BAMS and BHMS respectively.
For admission to its Medicine courses, the BVP conducts a national level Common Entrance Test (CET), which is generally held during the month of May , every year. For being eligible to appear in this exam, the candidate has to have passed the qualifying examination of the H S C or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and pass in English.
BVP UG Medical CET is an objective type test. wherein students need to answer 200 Multiple Choice Questions on Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. The duration of the exam is of 3 hrs and question paper is set in English language. Admission lo MBBS and other courses of Medicine is administered on the basis of the merit of a candidate obtained in the test, through a process of counseling.

15% per cent seats are reserved for Foreign / NRI (Non-Resident Indian) / Management Category students. Candidates seeking admissions to the seats of this category will have to apply separately on prescribed application form and submit the same The Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune.
Candidates applying under management category also have to appear CET, Seats remaining vacant after allotment to Foreign/ N R I students will be allotted to Indian students under Management Category on the basis of marks obtained by them in the CET.
• The candidate should be an Indian national.
• For admission to MBBS course, the candidate should have passed HSC or Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually,
• The candidates must have obtained 50%marks in Physics. Chemistry & Biology taken together at the qualifying examination or equivalent.
• The candidate belonging to the scheduled castes/scheduled tribes should have obtained at least 40 per cent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examinations as well as at CET.
• The candidate should have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission.
• Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination, ie: 10+2/HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be considered eligible to appear for CET provided they have offered the abovementioned subjects at the said examinations.
• If candidate fails to fulfill the relevant eligibility requirements as mentioned above will not be considered eligible for admission to any of these courses, viz, MBBS/BDS/BAMS /BHMS, even if he/she Is placed in the merit list of the CET.
Application form for BVP UG CET are usually available in March at its institutes in Pune, Navl Mumbai and Delhi, which can be collected from the Institute concerned on cash payment of required amount/fee.
• It can be obtained by post, by writing are quest letter to the effect, along with a demand draft of the requisite amount.
• The DD must be drawn in favour of, "Registrar, Bharati Vidyapeeth University", pay able at Pune.
• There is also an option for online application in University's website where a candidate can fill the details and send the printed version along with a Demand Draft to the University.
• The Candidate should invariably mention his name on the back of his Demand Draft.
• The application sent by mail must be sent by registered post/speed post/courier.
• An incomplete application form and an application form which is not accompanied by a demand draft of the prescribed CET fee will not be entertained and processed.
Note: Candidates are advised to obtain and maintain proof of draft and of dispatch of the application form. This may be useful for obtaining duplicate admission card if required.

CET is conducted at 11 cities across the country, the names of which are as follows:
Pune, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Vadodara, Hyderabad, Indore, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur, Allahabad, Chandigarh.
The exact location and address of the examination centre is communicated to the candidates through their admission card.
Common entrance test for medicine studies conducted by BVP is an objective type test of a multiple choice questionnaire. The paper consists of 200 MCQ from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, evenly distributed. Each of the questions is provided with four options, one of which is being the correct answer. Answers are to be marked in OMR sheet either with HB pencil, or by blue/black ball point pen.
For every correct response one mark Is awarded. However, there is no provision of negative marking for the wrong answer. The standard of the exam is that of 10+2, and the question paper is set in English language.

On the basis of the marks obtained by students, the University will prepare separate merit list for regular category and foreign/non-resident/ management category. Selected candidates are then required to attend counseling process leading to admission.
