Introduction. Today, India is facing a lot of problems. But population problem is worst from all of them. Due to this problem we fall short of our resources. The countries having limited population are fully developed in nil the sectors. India is a great country. It has 2.4% area of the whole world. At the time of our independence in 1947, the population of our country was merely 33 crore but now we have crossed more than one thousand millions.
Present Indian position. Indian population has increased four times .since our independence. We stand in the second position after China in world population. It will create havoc if it continues to increase at the same rate in next twenty-five years. Due to this population problem in India, all our plannings or policies become unsuccessful.
Reasons of population explosion. In India, the main reason behind this grim problem is illiteracy. The illiterate people have no ideas regarding their duties and future plannings of their family members. They are quite superstitious and consider their sons superior to daughters. At the time of female baby issue, such types of people become depressed and give birth lo many children in the hope of male issue. Secondly, lakhs of people every year from neighbouring countries come to India and settle here. In some time they become Indian citizen and create so many problems in our smooth functioning.
Importance of a small family. It has been rightly said that "A small family is a happy family". The parents who have one or two children can provide all facilities to their children. They can send them in good school for better education. The children of a small family always remain healthy and wealthy. We find no disputes in such families. The parents can lead children towards a bright future by meeting their all requirements. Steps to overcome this problem. The govt. should take effective slops to control the increasing population. All the families should adopt Tamily planning' programme. Every citizen of India should co-operate mil support the govt. schemes. Our govt. should provide some incentives who adopt family planning. Some regular programmes regarding family planning should be telecasted on TV. The govt. must stop intrusion and seal all our international-boundaries.
Completion. It is the moral duty of all the people to take this population problem seriously for the welfare and total development of our future generations. The increasing population creates so many other problems. So, it must be curbed as early as possible.
