Linguistic ability is a relatively new phenomenon vis-a-vis non-verbal communication, which reminds us of our primitive links with the rest of the creation. Many a times, our body gives out nonverbal cues without us being aware of it. It needs to be borne in mind that every individual has his or her own particular way to stand, sit, or gesture one way or the other. Cues emanating from a person's body can be properly interpreted on being aware of the other person's body language. If the person you are speaking to turns away after having faced you dimity and maintained good eye contact, it is a sure sign of that person being annoyed with you or with what you have just uttered. Similarly, if as person starts by facing away and suddenly, during the course of  interaction, starts looking at you and making eye contact, it would mean that you have succeeded in making the person interested in you.

While slouching is a sign of disinterest, wringing hands is a sign of nervousness. People in submissive roles can easily be pointed out due to their tendency to flex their limbs, cross their arms or crouching. These self-clasping stances make the body as small as is possible. On the other hand, gestures of a dominant person are more expansive and include spreading the arms and legs. So, it is important to note what our body is doing when we are with someone. We need to look at where our feet are, and how we are holding our arms so the stance can be rectified, if desired. But, it would not be prudent to use body language that feels totally unnatural to you, as it would signal dishonesty.

An important thing to be taken care of is that your body should not say something opposite to what you are verbally communicating. It is because, when there is a mixed message, people tend to believe what they see and not what they hear.. Visual cues are the most important when it comes to interpreting what other person is saying. Next in importance is the lone in which the words are spoken. Words become less important as tone alone can provide subtle clues about commitment, enthusiasm, disinterest, skepticism, etc. Hence, if you are not getting what you need from other people, chances are that you are sending wrong message with your body language or tone.

Carrying yourself confidently is something which is not taught in schools. One needs to practice it by carrying yourself as if you can.'  About yourself. It can be done through an erect posture, leaning slightly forward maintaining eye contact, unfolding arms and legs, looking cheerful and confident, nodding your head, etc. Inconsistencies in gestures put off people. For example, smiling while imparting serious information would simply take out all the seriousness of the information being provided.

Gestures have a subtle power. If you want somebody to wind up a discussion, simply move your hands in front of you and clasp them in front. The subtle shift would be as if some physical thing has been put between the two of you and may signal to the other person that it is time to wrap up. Fingers also play an important role in gestures. It fingers are apart while gesturing, it is said to communicate weakness. If fingers are tightly together, it would communicate power.

Body language is one of the factors that determine the success or failure of a speech. It is because the audience notices how your body moves while emphasizing an idea. Besides the actual speech, facial expressions, hand movements and even the movements of feet could be used to effectively communicate to your audience. Without any moment, your speech will become dull as there is no additional information that is offered to the audience. Similarly, it is most likely that the audience might get bored if there are no hand gestures while you are standing in front of the pulpit or in front of the microphone.

Eye contact is very important as it can be an efficient tool in small conferences or presentations. A good eye contact during a speech would show that you are confident of the facts you are stating and you want the message to be personal. Looking at your audience straight in the eye will result in a good impact. For better impact, you can focus on a person for a few seconds before transferring to the next spectator.  

Facile expression is another important aspect as they easily express your emotions. If you are telling about your disappointment with something without any facial expression, it may seem like a hollow statement. It is because facial expression is sincerely. Since emotions come naturally, a sad statement without the corresponding facial expression may not really get the iness.igc .across   but it is important to provide the right facial expression. One trick is to practice your facial expression in front of a mirror and develop your facial expression until you are satisfied with what you see.

Arms and hands are the most visible part of your body, which make them the most important tool to convey emotions. Your hands can point, stomp with fists and other hand movements in order to tell your audience your true emotions. This is very useful when talking to a large crowd and you cannot be easily seen from a distance. However, a little till of restraint is advisable while using arms and hands as too many hand gestures will remove their importance. Remember that your gestures should only be used to emphasize a point so it does not make sense to, wave your hand in every sentence.

Your body language could easily convey your emotions and let the audience know that the information you are talking about is important but it does not mean that you have to display emotions or frantically move your body in every point you are making. Too much movement will only distract your audience. Control your emotions by using your hand gestures and other movements on certain parts of your speech this will help boost some important points without creating too much distraction.
