Bhai Vir Singh (1872-1975). is known as the father of  Modern  literature. He was not only a man of  Letters  also belonged to that order of rishis and  Mystics  which has from time immemorial, been the  Mainstay of our culture.

A great poet is one who sees into the life of things. For  Bhai vir singh  the wonders of the world and the beauties  Of nature  constitute an inexhaustible treasure and, he  Had the talent  of giving things of everyday life a certain  Quality of  charm and vibrance.

Through his his poetry, Bhai Vir Singh draws the Attention of" the\lethargic and the inert towards the Imperishable beauties of the universe.

What adds to our zest for life and gives meaning to our earthy existence is the ceaseless search for the true Beloved.

bhai Vir Singh expresses it very beautifully: Let age come and go Let cycles roll as they may/And let him be wherever he wills/My search shall never cease/My longing for him will never end/Enough for me, this location of pain/I revel in this killing thirst/The misery of the lumber is my life and joy forever.

Bhai Vir Singh was essentially a mystic and nature Poet. The spiritual poetry of love is the poetry of Mysticism. The mystic believes that the invisible creator and the - soul of man are akin to each other. The Relationship developed between them would lead to their I feel silent/as one stricken dumb/Thy hand hath the magic touch/It makes the living come to life.

The real value of Bhai Vir Singh's poems is in his expression of self with the utmost ease born of realisation of truth: I cannot contract my heart/The flash of my soul if is lost in ecstasy /At the touch of his marble walls /Ah, f can't stay there nor return/I am drowned in an ocean (ij  joyI am dumb with song I am nothing, I know nothing,He was a great exponent of Nature. His interpretation of Nature: he saw the divine hand in the symmetry anch beauty of Nature.

Bhai Vir Singh also had a deep grounding in Indian philosophy. He laid the foundation of the modern critical and historical scholarship in the study of comparative religions and his work offers a challenging field of study and research. In New Delhi has come up an institution housing his works, and library facilities for scholars of Indian philosophy and comparative religion.
