I have a dog as a pet. Dogs have often been called "Man's best friend". This seems very true about my dog Rover. Rover is an Alsatian. I got him as a gift from my mother on my last birthday. Rover was just a pup whenI got him and I have loved him ever since the day Ifirst saw him.

Rover is a very affectionate dog. Whenever I come homefrom school, he jumps to me and licks me all over. Hejumps around the house with joy because he knows that his master will take him out for his walk.

Rover and I go for a walk every morning because hehas to ease himself. This provides me with exercise too we have a perfect understanding. Rover wakes me upin the morning by licking my toe.

Once I am up we leave the house and Rover strutsaround feeling very proud of me. He socializes a lot with the passersby. At times he barks at people that hedoes not particularly like.

He has very strong likes and dislikes and he is veryundiplomatic when it comes to demonstrating his Attitude towards strangers. Even though he makes friends easily, I still remain his most favourite friend and companion. He is very faithful to me.

Whenever a stranger enters my house Rover begins tokirk so as to warn me. I dread to think about what Rover would do if he ever saw thieves entering myhouse. He would probably rip them apart. Being an Alsatian he can get quite violent and vicious at times.

I feel terrible whenever Rover falls ill. He becomes aslu-lpless as a baby during any sickness. He remains Dumb and I have to understand his silence and provide him with comfort.

With Rover around I never feel lonely. Holidays aregreat because Rover and I spend a lot of time running and playing in the park with a ball or with a bone.

I feed Rover every day and I love to make his mealsbecause he enjoys eating and I love to watch him licking his plate dry within minutes. Rover is my pet and I can easily say that he is the best friend that I have.
