Modes of Travelling

Introduction. Men are a social being. He is always eager to see his friends and relatives. In olden days people did not like to take long journeys. There were no quick means of travelling.

Old means of travelling. In the beginning legs were man's means of travelling. He was never satisfied with his legs. Next to legs came animals, horse, camel, elephant, ox-donkey, pony and yak. All have been serving us since ancient times. On plains we use horse. But in desert the camel is the only means of travelling.

Bullock cart, horse and Pony. In the villages there are no roads. People make use of bullock cart. In the same way people make use of horse. We use pony on mountains. No importance of animals at present. Animals have lost their importance at present. We do not use them as means of the travelling. We like to travel by train or motor car. Why is it so? The reason is that old means of travelling were full of dangers. Wild animals, thieves or robbers would attack our forefathers. Travelling with women or money was impossible. Hence when steam engine came into existence we welcomed it. It brought a great change in travelling on land and sea.

Modern means of travelling-

(a) Train and Motor Car. At present the railway trains and mo-nr cars have taken the place of animals. They are quick and safe. We can cover long distances with their help. We can travel in a train or bus with all comforts. We have no danger of losing life or property.

(b) Aero plane. The aero plane has made travelling much faster, day after air route is becoming safer and quicker, Now we can fly air like birds in the air at the speed of thousand Kilometers an hour. But the s travelling by air is very costly. Only did Rich can make use of it.

(c) Cycle-1 and Rickaws. No doubt the modern means have made the world smaller, yet cycles and rickshaws have Their own charm and importance- They arc the cheapest means of travelling.. Young boys and girls love travelling on bicycles. They become romantic on them. Rickshaw is doing service in places where other means fail to reach. Motor rickshaws have come forward to save our lime and energy.

Conclusion. Thus our big country has all modes of travelling. We can see the rich U .welling in the dir and the poor walking long distances on foot. Today a potter still feels proud of his donkey. He considers its hack no less than the seat of a car.
