Christmas is the greatest festival of Christians. It is celebrated cm 25th December every year. Christian' Believe that on this day Jesus Christ was born. This is celebrated around the world by all the Christian Countries.

In India too its festivities are almost the same as thatof Dussehra and Diwali. Houses and Churches are cleaned and white washed. They are decorated with buntings, flowers, pictures, and crosses. The alters of Jesus and Mother Mary are decorated beautifully.

People decorate Christmas tree. They decorate it withlamps, bells, toys and flowers. At night it looks beautifuland shines.

People go to markets to buy gifts for friends andrelatives. Cakes and chocolates are in great demand, Shopkeepers also decorate their shops tastefully, Shopkeepers do good business.

On the Christmas day people go to Church to offer theirprayers. The/ light the candles at alters of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary. They take part in mid-night mass.

People arrange feasts at their homes. They invite friends and relatives to celebrate Christmas with them,

They put gifts near Christmas tree for each otherchildren hang stocking near their beds. They believe I licit Santa Claus will come at night and put a gift forthem. Santa Claus has become the most beloved Christmas Symbol. One can see a person dressed as Santa Claus and distributing sweets to children in the market.

People enjoy parties and dance on music. The children also feel happy after getting beautiful gifts. This festival comes to an end at night.
